
CHILLICOTHE — Chillicothe Police officers handled a series of incidents across the city on Friday, Jan. 17, ranging from thefts and warrants to a domestic dispute and an impaired driving arrest.
In the early morning hours, officers on patrol on North Bridge Street arrested an individual who matched the description of a male with an active warrant. Drug paraphernalia was also reported in connection with the arrest.
Later that morning, police were dispatched to the 400 block of West Main Street in response to a reported domestic dispute. The incident was classified as disorderly conduct, and the investigation remained ongoing.
Shortly after 1 p.m., officers responded to Sherman Park for a reported theft from a motor vehicle. Police said the investigation into the theft was continuing.
Another warrant was served around 1:40 p.m. on North Paint Street. Details surrounding the warrant were not immediately released.
At approximately 2:56 p.m., police were called to the 600 block of Beechwood Street regarding the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Officers reported that a vehicle had been taken from the residence, and the case remained under investigation.
Later in the afternoon, officers responded to a criminal trespass complaint at a business located at Main and Bridge streets. The incident occurred at approximately 4:34 p.m., and the investigation was ongoing.
In the evening, police were dispatched to North Paint Street in connection with a warrant and a reported shoplifting incident involving theft by deception. That case also remained under investigation.
Around 8:54 p.m., officers took a report of a theft from a motor vehicle at the Law Enforcement Complex.
The final incident of the day occurred just before midnight on Ewing Street, when an officer conducted a traffic stop. Police reported the driver was operating a vehicle under an OVI suspension and was arrested for operating a vehicle while impaired. The investigation continued following the stop.
A total of nine incidents were recorded by the Chillicothe Police Department on Jan. 17.
