
CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Chillicothe police officers were kept busy throughout the day on Wednesday, December 17, responding to a variety of calls ranging from traffic stops and crashes to disorderly conduct and criminal investigations, according to the Chillicothe Police Department’s daily media report.
During the early morning hours, officers initiated a traffic stop on a white Chevy SUV on Southern Avenue around 3:19 a.m. The stop led to an investigation involving an outstanding warrant and alleged possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance. That case remains under investigation.
Later in the morning, officers were dispatched to a disorderly conduct complaint at the Kroger on North Bridge Street around 11:34 a.m. Police say the investigation into that incident is ongoing.
In the afternoon, officers responded to a motor vehicle injury crash at the intersection of South Bridge Street and East 8th Street around 2:54 p.m. The crash was attributed to a failure to obey traffic signals, and a citation was issued.
Additional traffic enforcement occurred around 5:49 p.m. on South Bridge Street, where officers stopped a white Honda Pilot and discovered the vehicle’s registration had expired in April 2025. The driver, identified as April Moore, was also found to be operating the vehicle without a valid driver’s license. She was issued citations for expired registration and driving without a license and was given a court date of January 2, 2026, in Chillicothe Municipal Court.
Police also issued citations following additional traffic stops on East Main Street near North Watt Street and on North Bridge Street later in the evening, including a non-injury crash reported around 7:27 p.m.
More serious calls included a menacing by stalking investigation reported around 6:30 p.m. on Enderlin Circle, where officers responded to an alleged court order violation at a Chillicothe Parks and Recreation location. That investigation remains ongoing.
Officers also responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint on Jefferson Avenue and another disorderly conduct call involving reported threats at the Bath & Body Works store on North Bridge Street later that evening.
All cases remain under investigation unless otherwise noted.
