
CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Chillicothe Police Department handled a wide range of calls on Saturday, August 23, including traffic stops, theft reports, disorderly conduct, and drug-related offenses, according to the department’s daily media log.
The day began just after midnight when officers initiated a traffic stop near Walnut and Main streets for fictitious license plates. A short time later, at 1:38 a.m., police encountered a man at the Poland Park shelter house who was wanted on a warrant and also found with suspected drug abuse instruments.
At 2:28 a.m., another traffic stop near South Bridge and East 8th streets resulted in citations for drug paraphernalia, fictitious plates, and driving under suspension.
Later in the morning, officers responded to a report of disorderly conduct on Knoles Avenue and to found property behind Vine Street. Two traffic crashes were reported before noon, including one on East 7th Street involving weaving and another at Western and Gerber avenues where a driver failed to maintain assured clear distance.
A theft of medication was reported on Dayton Street at 11:08 a.m., followed by a burglary complaint on East Water Street just after 1:20 p.m. In the afternoon, police investigated a theft at Walmart on River Trace Lane.
One of the more serious calls of the day came at 6:23 p.m., when officers responded to Western Avenue regarding a complaint of terroristic threats involving the Ross County Juvenile Court. Later that evening, police were dispatched to Valero on North Bridge Street for a fight involving intoxicated individuals.
Other incidents included resisting arrest on North Rose Street, reports of drug abuse instruments on Warner Avenue, and a drug possession investigation on South Douglas Avenue after police served a search warrant.
In all, Chillicothe officers documented 16 reports throughout the day, ranging from minor property calls to more serious drug and threats cases.
