Chillicothe Police Respond to Drug Arrest, Overdose, Threats, and Multiple Thefts on Jan. 3

CHILLICOTHE, OH — Chillicothe police officers were busy throughout the day and night on Friday, January 3, responding to a wide range of incidents including drug possession, an overdose, reported threats, traffic crashes, thefts, and disorderly conduct, according to the department’s daily media report.

The first incident of the day occurred around 3:46 a.m. on East Main Street, where officers conducted a traffic stop that resulted in a report for possession of drugs involving a Schedule I or II substance.

Later in the morning, officers responded to a drug overdose reported at 12:33 p.m. Details on the individual’s condition were not released.

At approximately 3:18 p.m., police were called to 94 E. Water Street (Old Canal Smoke House) in response to a telecommunications harassment and threats complaint. The incident remains under investigation.

Shortly before 4 p.m., officers responded to an injury crash involving two vehicles in front of 1000 N. Bridge Street. A citation was issued after a crash report was completed.

Additional calls throughout the afternoon and evening included:

  • A warrant-related traffic stop near Consumer Center Drive and River Trace Lane
  • A report of extortion and threats taken at the Law Enforcement Complex related to an incident on Ledgewood Drive
  • Multiple theft complaints on East 7th Street, West Main Street, and North Bridge Street
  • Disorderly conduct incidents reported on Yoctangee Parkway and North High Street, including one involving intoxication

The most serious incident occurred just before midnight, when officers were dispatched to 229 Arch Street for a reported domestic dispute. The case involves allegations of obstructing official business, assault, and criminal mischief. That investigation is ongoing.

In total, 11 incidents were logged by the Chillicothe Police Department on January 3. Many cases remain under investigation, and no additional details were immediately released.
