Chillicothe Police Respond to Domestic Disputes, Thefts, and Traffic Violations on Independence Day

July 4, 2025 – 13 Incidents Logged Across the City

CHILLICOTHE, OH — July 5, 2025 — Chillicothe police had a busy Fourth of July, responding to a range of calls throughout the city, including multiple domestic disputes, thefts, traffic stops, and trespassing complaints, according to the department’s July 4 media report.

Here are highlights from the 13 incidents:

  • At 12:48 a.m., officers were dispatched to Jerry’s Pizza on S. Paint Street in response to a domestic dispute. The investigation remains active.
  • A traffic stop was conducted around 2:21 a.m. on Western Avenue for a missing license plate light. The driver was also cited for driving under suspension.
  • Another domestic-related call came in at 2:35 a.m. on S. Rose Street involving disorderly conduct and fighting.
  • A third domestic incident was reported on the 300 block of E. 7th Street just after 8:20 a.m.
  • At 9:18 a.m., officers responded to a theft without consent on the 1000 block of N. Bridge Street. The case remains under investigation.
  • Around 4:00 p.m., a menacing by stalking complaint was filed on E. 4th Street, part of what police describe as an “ongoing incident.”
  • A reckless driving complaint at Burger King on N. Bridge Street around 5:51 p.m. also resulted in a disorderly conduct investigation.
  • Just after 6:00 p.m., a criminal trespass report was filed at the Marathon gas station on N. Bridge Street.
  • At 6:12 p.m., officers were called to Whaley Place in reference to a non-criminal ex parte situation.
  • A traffic stop at N. Bridge Street and Riverside led to a citation for driving under suspension and expired registration. The driver, Brandon Corey, was issued a court date for July 14.
  • The final entry, logged at 8:23 p.m. on E. 4th Street, is still under review.
