CHILLICOTHE, OH — The Chillicothe Police Department handled 23 calls for service on Thursday, October 9, 2025, ranging from domestic disturbances and theft investigations to several traffic-related incidents across the city.

Officers first responded just before 4 a.m. to North Bridge Street, where they assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol with a reported road rage incident near Raising Cane’s. The investigation remains ongoing.

Later in the morning, police were called to Caldwell Street after a resident reported a damaged vehicle, which is being investigated as criminal mischief. Additional calls included two non-injury traffic crashes involving assured clear distance violations — one on East Water Street and another on Pawnee Road.

At Sherman Park, officers investigated a disturbance related to disorderly conduct, while a separate domestic dispute at Wendy’s on Toledo Street also led to a report of disorderly conduct.

Around 11:51 a.m., police were dispatched to the Law Enforcement Complex regarding a bank account theft; later, another credit card theft and misuse was reported on Cherokee Road. A third theft complaint came in from Cherry Street that afternoon.

A serious incident occurred around 4:54 p.m. on Mechanic Street, where officers responded to a domestic violence report involving possible strangulation following a 911 text message. That case remains under active investigation.

Other notable calls included:

  • A juvenile complaint on Plyleys Lane
  • A suicidal threats call on Pawnee Road
  • A criminal trespass report at Enterprise Place Drive
  • Multiple traffic stops for expired plates and driving under suspension

One driver, identified as Trevor Campbell, was cited for expired registration and driving under suspension after being stopped on North Sugar Street. Another individual, Brian Malone, turned himself in at the Law Enforcement Complex for a failure-to-appear warrant related to domestic menacing. He was booked into the county jail pending a court appearance.

The day concluded with officers assisting the Ross County Sheriff’s Office late Thursday night on Plyleys Lane in a call involving a suicidal individual.

The Chillicothe Police Department continues to investigate several of the day’s active cases.
