
CHILLICOTHE (Aug. 23, 2025) — The Chillicothe Police Department responded to a series of incidents across the city Friday, ranging from traffic stops to thefts and a drug investigation that led to an arrest.
- Traffic Stops & Citations — Officers issued citations on Yoctangee Parkway for obstructing an intersection and driving under suspension, as well as for expired plates on Renick Avenue.
- Assault & Threats with Gun — Police were called to Unionoto Middle School after a female reported she had been assaulted and threatened with a firearm overnight near Lincoln Park. The case remains under investigation.
- Juvenile Complaint — Officers responded to Dayton Street regarding a juvenile-related issue. Police said the case is ongoing.
- Intoxicated Individual — A welfare check at Central Center revealed disorderly conduct involving an intoxicated person who posed a risk of harm.
- Drug Arrest in Park — Officers made an arrest at the shelter house behind the YMCA in Yoctangee Park following a drug trafficking investigation. Weapons were also reportedly involved.
- Traffic Accident — A hit-and-run crash was reported on East 7th Street. Police said the investigation is continuing.
- Thefts Reported — Detectives assisted in a theft investigation on North Bridge Street, and later, police investigated a motor vehicle theft on North High Street.
- Dog Bite Complaint — Officers were flagged down at East Water and North Watt streets for a report of a dog bite.
- Late-Night Disorderly Conduct — Around 10:30 p.m., officers responded to West Main Street regarding a fight or threats being made.
In total, Chillicothe police handled 11 separate reports on August 22. Several investigations remain ongoing.
