Chillicothe Police Respond to 30 Incidents on May 7, Including Warrants, Thefts, Fraud, and Traffic Violations

CHILLICOTHE, OH — The Chillicothe Police Department responded to 30 separate incidents on May 7, 2025, ranging from outstanding warrants and theft investigations to non-criminal calls and juvenile complaints.

Warrants and Arrests:
Multiple individuals were either arrested or identified for outstanding warrants. Officers responded to a narcotics complaint on Shady Glen Road and later to a subject turning himself in on Adams Avenue. Other warrant-related calls occurred on Main Street, Paint Street, and Yaples Orchard Drive, with several cases still under investigation.

Death Investigation:
Officers responded to a non-suspicious death at a residence on Pickens Avenue around 2 a.m. The case is not being treated as suspicious at this time.

Criminal Offenses and Investigations:

A counterfeit $100 bill complaint on Western Avenue has launched a criminal simulation investigation.

Officers are investigating a case of identity fraud reported from Midland Road.

Multiple shoplifting cases were reported on River Trace Lane, with investigations ongoing.

Criminal trespass incidents were logged at East Main Street and Liberty Street.

Traffic Violations and Stops:
Police conducted several traffic stops for violations, including:

Driving under OVI suspension on North Bridge Street.

Obstructing an intersection near the Chillicothe Mall, where a juvenile driver was cited and released.

A 17-year-old driver without a license was stopped after running a stop sign at high speed on East 7th Street.

Non-Criminal and Civil Matters:
Chillicothe officers handled a significant number of non-criminal issues, including parking complaints primarily centered on East 2nd Street and Jefferson Avenue. Officers also responded to cybercrime tips, juvenile incidents, and reports of unruly behavior on Orange Street, Vine Street, and Cherry Street.

Public Safety Notes:
The department continues to urge residents to report suspicious activity and cooperate with ongoing investigations. Several cases, including those involving counterfeit currency, identity theft, and trespassing, remain open.
