
CHILLICOTHE, OH — May 7, 2025 — The Chillicothe Police Department responded to a total of 21 incidents on Monday, May 6, ranging from robbery and assault to criminal trespassing and vehicle-related offenses, according to their daily media report.
Among the more serious incidents:
- Robbery with a deadly weapon: Officers were dispatched at 2:50 a.m. to the BP gas station on 741 Safford Ave in response to a robbery involving a deadly weapon. The investigation is ongoing.
- Assault at Patrick’s Pub: Police responded to 20 N. Plaza Blvd at 12:37 a.m. for a disorderly subject and reported an assault. The case remains under investigation.
- Theft and Shoplifting: Multiple thefts were reported, including a shoplifting incident at Walmart on River Trace Lane and another at Game Smart on Consumer Square Drive. Both investigations are still active.
- Warrant arrest: A male subject was transported from the Jackson County Correctional Facility to Ross County Jail on an outstanding warrant from Chillicothe PD.
- Criminal Trespassing: Two trespassing complaints were logged — one at S. Mulberry Street and another at S. Paint Street. Both remain under review.
- Disorderly conduct and intoxication: Officers responded to several calls for disorderly behavior, including an incident involving an intoxicated person creating a risk of harm at 54 E. Water Street.
- Traffic stops and vehicle violations: A driver was cited on E. Water Street for expired registration and driving under suspension, with no insurance. Another incident on E. 7th Street led to a vehicle being towed for expired tags.
- Unauthorized vehicle use: A vehicle theft was reported at 196 Hirn Street shortly before midnight. Police are investigating.
- Dog ordinance violation: A complaint regarding a potentially dangerous or improperly restrained dog was reported at 108 S. Brownell Street.
- Crash investigations: Officers handled several motor vehicle accidents, including a hit-skip on S. Hickory Street and a crash transferred from the Ohio State Patrol jurisdiction to city police at the Pilot gas station on E. Main Street.
