Chillicothe Police Respond to 19 Incidents on July 23 Including Drug Possession, Warrants, Overdose, and Thefts

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – July 24, 2025
The Chillicothe Police Department responded to 19 separate incidents throughout the city on July 23, ranging from traffic stops and thefts to warrants and drug-related cases.

Early in the morning, officers responded to Papa John’s on North High Street at 12:34 a.m. for a theft complaint. The case remains under investigation.

At 1:24 a.m., a traffic stop on South Renick Avenue led to an arrest on a warrant. Just over 30 minutes later, an officer patrolling Poland Park made contact with a citizen, resulting in a case involving tampering with evidence, drug possession, and obstruction.

At 8:17 a.m., officers were called to East 5th Street for a minor crash in which a parked vehicle was struck. The at-fault driver, Theodore Clary, left contact information and cooperated with authorities.

Later in the morning, a juvenile was reported missing from Adams Avenue, while found property was reported on East 7th Street. On Orange Street, police responded to a dog bite call—categorized as a non-criminal matter—with an investigation continuing.

In the afternoon, police responded to a theft report on Cheyenne Drive, a domestic disturbance on East Main Street, and made contact with a runaway juvenile at Yoctangee Park near the YMCA.

At 4:20 p.m., a traffic stop on North Bridge Street led to the discovery of a driver using a cell phone while driving and operating a vehicle under driver’s license suspension. The driver, Mystry Buskirk, was cited.

An hour later, police were called to West 5th Street for disorderly conduct. At 6:33 p.m., officers responded to East 4th Street for a suspected drug overdose, which remains under investigation.

One of the more serious evening incidents occurred at Walmart on River Trace Lane, where a report of theft led to further charges including criminal trespassing and a warrant arrest.

At Kroger on North Bridge Street, officers investigated a report of a child left unattended, while on South Douglas Avenue, a woman found unresponsive in an alley was arrested for a warrant related to disorderly conduct.

A crash was reported at 9:56 p.m. on North Bridge Street, and just before midnight, an officer on patrol at Jackson and Jefferson Avenues stopped a bicyclist with no lights, leading to charges for drug possession and paraphernalia.

The final incident of the night involved a speeding violation on North Bridge Street at 11:57 p.m. The case is still under review.
