
CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — July 28, 2025
The Chillicothe Police Department logged 18 separate incidents throughout the city on Sunday, July 27, 2025, ranging from traffic violations and warrants to thefts and violent offenses.
The day began just after midnight, with a traffic stop on West Main Street resulting in a warrant investigation. Later that morning, police responded to an assault at the Amoco station on North Bridge Street, where a report was taken.
At 1:31 a.m., officers made an arrest on Ewing Street during a citizen contact that led to charges of obstructing official business and offenses involving counterfeit items.
Around 3:30 a.m., a second traffic stop on North Bridge Street also led to a warrant investigation. Within minutes, officers were dispatched to the Quality Inn on North Plaza Boulevard following reports of a physical altercation.
In a peculiar incident at 5:08 a.m., police encountered an unruly juvenile female running from Greenlawn Cemetery across East 7th Street. Officers made contact and addressed the situation.
Throughout the morning and afternoon, officers were dispatched to several theft complaints, including:
- 259 E 5th Street at 6:34 a.m.
- McArthur Gardens on Columbus Street at 10:58 a.m.
- Champs Sports at 1075 N Bridge Street at 11:14 a.m.
- Walmart on River Trace Lane at both 6:50 p.m. and 8:14 p.m. (shoplifting — an arrest was made)
At 10:38 a.m., officers responded to a non-injury vehicle crash on SR 159 near Seney Road. A citation was issued for driving outside marked lanes.
A warrant-related call at 3:22 p.m. led police to a location on West Main Street, while a traffic stop at 6:07 p.m. on Hirn Street resulted in citations for improper turning and driving without a valid license.
Police also addressed:
- A criminal trespassing call at 92 Leggett Avenue (resolved at the scene)
- A final incident just before 11 p.m. at 324 East 2nd Street involving a warrant and a domestic violence complaint.
Most of the theft and warrant investigations remain open as police continue to follow up on leads.
