Chillicothe Police Respond to 17 Incidents on August 5, Including Drug Overdose, Thefts, and Disorderly Conduct

CHILLICOTHE, OH – Chillicothe police were dispatched to 17 separate incidents on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, handling a variety of calls that included a suspected drug overdose, multiple thefts, traffic violations, and several disorderly conduct complaints.

The day began just after midnight, when officers responded to 8 Deerpath at 12:33 a.m. for a report of an unresponsive person, later classified as a drug overdose.

At 6:24 a.m., an officer on patrol initiated a traffic stop at E Main St and Paint St after spotting a vehicle with fictitious license plates. The driver was also found to have a suspended license. Later that morning, two separate texting-while-driving stops were conducted on E Water St near the Bridge Street area.

Police were also called to Lowe’s Home Improvement at 8:56 a.m. for a report of a theft without consent, now under investigation. A second theft was reported on Massie Avenue at 11:29 a.m., and another at River Trace Lane just after 1:00 p.m., classified as shoplifting.

Other notable calls included:

A trespassing complaint on Back Road at 10:12 a.m., labeled non-criminal but still under investigation.

A disorderly conduct call at 1849 N. Bridge Street around 1:49 p.m.

A hit-skip traffic crash at 314 Riverside St at 4:10 p.m., with the suspect reportedly leaving the scene.

A juvenile-related disorderly conduct incident on Jefferson Avenue at 7:33 p.m.

A fight involving two juveniles on E Main Street at 9:45 p.m. – with charges recommended to Ross County Juvenile Court.

Several traffic enforcement stops were made throughout the day, including one at N Bridge Street at 8:43 p.m. for warrants and driving under suspension.

The final case reported at 10:56 p.m. on Arch Street was determined to have been entered in error.

Chillicothe police continue to investigate several of these cases. No arrests were immediately reported in connection with the incidents.
