
CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Chillicothe police officers responded to a wide range of incidents throughout the city on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2026, including drug-related offenses, multiple disorderly conduct calls, an overdose investigation, and the arrest of two individuals on outstanding warrants.
Just after 1 a.m., officers initiated a citizen contact with a man riding a bicycle near South Douglas Avenue and Columbus Street. During the encounter, officers discovered drug paraphernalia and instruments commonly associated with drug abuse, resulting in a report being filed.
Later that morning, at approximately 6:51 a.m., officers took Brittney Cain into custody at her residence in the 200 block of Elm Street. Cain was arrested on a bench warrant issued by the Ross County Court of Common Pleas on Dec. 30, 2025, related to charges of receiving stolen property and possession of drugs.
Several traffic stops were conducted throughout the day, including stops on North Hickory Street for failure to display license plates and East Water Street for driving while texting. Officers also responded to a two-vehicle crash on North Bridge Street near Pawnee Road, where a citation was issued.
At around noon, police were called to North Bridge Street for a reported drug overdose. The incident remains under investigation.
Multiple disorderly conduct calls were handled during the afternoon and evening hours. Officers responded to East Main Street for a trespassing complaint involving intoxication and open container violations, East Second Street for telecommunications harassment, Ringwald Street for a fight or threats complaint, and East Second Street again later in the evening for another reported fight. Investigations in several of these cases are ongoing.
Police also arrested Tyler Rogers at the Municipal Court Probation office on North Paint Street after confirming an active probation violation warrant. Rogers was transported to the Ross County Jail and turned over to jail staff.
More serious incidents were reported later in the day, including a sexual battery investigation on Old Eastern Avenue involving a victim with impaired control. Officers were dispatched to the Law Enforcement Complex to begin the investigation, which remains ongoing.
Additional calls included an unruly juvenile complaint on Brennan Road, criminal mischief on Clay Street, and a domestic dispute on East Seventh Street that was resolved without further incident.
In total, Chillicothe police documented 16 incidents throughout the day as part of their daily media report.
