
CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Chillicothe police responded to a wide range of calls across the city on January 28, 2026, including theft investigations, traffic crashes, disorderly conduct complaints, and reports of criminal mischief, according to the Chillicothe Police Department’s daily media report.
Officers were first dispatched just after midnight to Maple Avenue in response to a disorderly conduct complaint. Police said the subject involved left the area before officers arrived, and no charges have been filed at this time.
Later in the morning, detectives reopened a cold case involving a theft by deception reported along Vine Street. The investigation remains ongoing, and no additional details have been released.
Around midday, officers responded to Belleview Avenue for a report of found property. Additional activity included multiple traffic-related incidents, including accident reports and a non-injury crash at the intersection of Allen Avenue and Delano Avenue. That crash remains under investigation.

Police also responded to Garden Drive after receiving a report of a stolen motor vehicle. Officers confirmed the theft, and the investigation is continuing.
Just after 1:30 p.m., officers were called to the Metro Housing Authority office on West Fourth Street regarding a threatening phone message. The incident was documented, and police continue to review the circumstances surrounding the call.
Later in the afternoon, officers responded to Mill Street near Vine Street for a report of a vehicle parked at an angle in the roadway, creating a potential traffic hazard.
In the early evening hours, police were dispatched to the Law Enforcement Complex in reference to a reported violation of a protection order. Details surrounding that incident were not immediately released.
The day concluded with officers responding to a criminal mischief complaint at a residence on South Mulberry Street shortly before 11 p.m. That investigation remains pending.
In total, Chillicothe police documented 12 incidents throughout the day, reflecting continued enforcement and response efforts across the city.
