
CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Chillicothe Police officers responded to at least 16 reported incidents on Monday, December 29, according to the department’s daily media report, with several cases involving thefts, criminal mischief, and ongoing investigations across the city.
The day began around 2:03 a.m. when an officer initiated a traffic stop on a white Lincoln sedan on East Main Street. During the stop, drug paraphernalia was reportedly discovered. The investigation remains pending.
Later in the morning, officers were dispatched to the Holiday Inn at 1003 East Main Street for multiple incidents. At approximately 6:40 a.m., police responded to a theft complaint at the hotel, followed by another call around 8:09 a.m. involving theft from a motor vehicle and criminal mischief at the same location. Both cases remain under investigation.
Additional theft-related calls included a report on Delaware Drive involving an alleged theft that occurred on North Plaza Boulevard, as well as another theft from a motor vehicle reported around 1:23 p.m. at a residence on Adams Avenue.
Police also handled several non-criminal and administrative calls throughout the day. These included a trespassing complaint on East Main Street, a misuse of credit card report taken at the Law Enforcement Complex on North Bridge Street, and an incident that was later determined to have been issued in error by the Ross County Sheriff’s Office.
Criminal mischief was reported on Western Avenue just before 2 p.m., while officers were later dispatched to Walmart on River Trace Lane for a theft complaint. Another shoplifting incident occurred at Kohl’s on River Trace Lane, where officers issued a summons following a report of criminal trespass and theft.
In the evening hours, officers responded to a non-criminal call at a residence on Sherman Park to advise a subject of updates to an ex-parte court order involving juvenile children. Police also investigated a missing person report on McKeller Street, as well as possible harassment on South Watt Street and a threats complaint at Par Mar on North Bridge Street. All of those cases remain under investigation.
