Chillicothe Police Handle Variety of Calls Including Thefts, Traffic Stops, and Domestic Disputes on October 28

CHILLICOTHE — The Chillicothe Police Department responded to more than 30 incidents on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, according to the department’s daily media log. Officers handled a wide range of calls, including thefts, domestic disputes, speeding violations, and an overdose.

The day began just after 1 a.m. when an officer stopped a black Chevy Trax on North Bridge Street for having no license plate or temporary tag. The driver, identified as Tracy Hupp, was found to have a suspended license and an expired registration.

Later that morning, officers were dispatched to IHOP on Consumer Center Drive for a reported theft. The investigation into that incident is ongoing. Another domestic dispute was reported at Sherman Park, and officers responded to a suspicious person call at Kingston National Bank on Western Avenue.

Between 8:40 a.m. and 11 a.m., Chillicothe officers conducted a series of traffic stops for speeding on West 5th Street, Pohlman Road, and Greenway Avenue, issuing warnings and citations as part of routine enforcement.

Around noon, officers investigated a protection order violation at Sally Beauty on North Bridge Street. They also responded to multiple theft complaints at River Trace Lane, South Walnut Street, and East Water Street, with several investigations continuing.

Police were called to 144 South Walnut Street after a bicycle theft, and later in the evening, officers were dispatched to Rural King on North Bridge Street for an active pallet theft. Ross County deputies assisted in stopping the suspect vehicle, resulting in two arrests.

Other notable calls included:

  • A drug overdose at 242 East Main Street,
  • A breaking and entering report at 606 Sherman Park,
  • A domestic violence incident on Philclare Road, and
  • A hit-and-run crash on North Hickory Street.

Throughout the day, officers also assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol with an OVI-related urine screen, handled multiple welfare checks, and addressed a parking dispute on Allen Avenue where a vehicle was blocking a driveway and sidewalk.

In total, 32 cases were logged by the Chillicothe Police Department for October 28. Several investigations remain ongoing.
