
CHILLICOTHE — The Chillicothe Police Department responded to a wide range of calls on Friday, August 29, according to the department’s daily media report.
The day began shortly after 2 a.m. when officers were dispatched to North Bridge Street on a report of an overdose. Later in the morning, police handled an assist with the Ohio State Highway Patrol and investigated a threats complaint at Fairview Apartments.
At 10:48 a.m., officers responded to Centennial Boulevard for a reported violation of a temporary protection order. Minutes later, a crash was reported on West Main Street. Around 11:30 a.m., police were dispatched to West Fourth Street on a theft complaint, which remains under investigation.
By midday, officers handled an unusual call on East Main Street, where a bicyclist was struck by a car door. Shortly after, theft complaints were reported on River Trace Lane, including one at Walmart, where police later returned for a separate criminal trespass report that evening.
Drug enforcement also appeared in Friday’s log, as detectives opened a trafficking investigation on North Paint Street in the afternoon.
Traffic enforcement included a stop at Bridge and Pawnee streets, where a driver was cited for obstructing the intersection, and a separate citation issued for marked-lanes violations on East Main Street following a crash.
Other reports included a disorderly call at Sherman Park, additional theft complaints, and criminal trespass incidents at Park Street and Walmart.
In total, Chillicothe police logged 17 separate cases for the day. Several remain under investigation.
