CHILLICOTHE — City police officers responded to a wide range of calls on Monday, September 29, including domestic disputes, traffic stops in school zones, thefts at Walmart, and a reported robbery involving a deadly weapon.

According to the Chillicothe Police Department’s daily media log, officers were first called shortly after midnight to Cedarwood Drive to assist a patient advocate from Adena Regional Medical Center. Later in the early morning hours, police handled a domestic violence complaint on South McArthur Street and served a warrant at the Law Enforcement Center.

By mid-morning, detectives opened a juvenile investigation involving alleged sexual battery following a notification from Child Protective Services. Officers also issued several traffic citations, including speeding in school zones and failure to obey traffic signals.

One of the most serious incidents occurred around 3:30 p.m. when police were dispatched to Walmart for a reported robbery involving a deadly weapon. That case remains under investigation. Later in the day, officers handled multiple theft and trespass complaints, including another incident at Walmart where a suspect was detained and linked to more than one theft.

Two separate domestic violence calls were also reported—one on South McArthur Street and another on Adams Avenue—along with disorderly conduct and non-criminal property complaints across the city.

In total, Chillicothe police logged 17 cases on September 29, ranging from routine traffic stops to felony-level investigations. Several of the cases remain active as detectives continue to gather information.
