Chillicothe Police Handle Drug Arrests, Crashes, Mental Health Incidents, and Warrants on Busy July 11

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — July 12, 2025
Chillicothe police responded to a wide range of incidents on Thursday, July 11, with officers addressing everything from drug-related arrests and mental health calls to vehicle crashes and outstanding warrants across the city.

The day began just after midnight when officers were dispatched to River Trace Lane for a crash involving injury. The investigation led to charges of possession of drugs and reckless operation on private property.

About an hour later, a disorderly conduct call on North Bridge Street resulted in another drug possession arrest, along with obstructing official business.

At 7:29 a.m., officers responded to a crash at Safford Avenue, citing a driver for failing to stop at a stop sign. No serious injuries were reported.

Throughout the day, police fielded multiple non-criminal welfare checks, including one on Shawnee Lane, where a woman reportedly left a counseling agency and expressed intent to harm herself. The woman was safely located, and the case remains under review.

Several other calls throughout the day involved disorderly conduct at locations such as Lincoln Avenue, East Main Street, and Western Avenue, as well as a missing person complaint filed from the Law Enforcement Complex lobby at 11:05 a.m.

Later in the afternoon, officers were dispatched to South Sugar Street for a dog bite incident, and a vehicle crash with injuries occurred at Western Avenue near Woodbridge Avenue, leading to a citation for failure to yield while turning left.

At 4:06 p.m., officers served an active domestic violence warrant on Sean Cradlebaugh while he was in custody at the Ross County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 14.

A second warrant arrest followed around 6:30 p.m. on North Bridge Street, and police responded to a theft and criminal trespass complaint at Gabe’s store at 7:50 p.m. A third arrest involving obstruction and an active warrant occurred around 8 p.m. on South Mulberry Street.

In a coordinated effort with the Pike County Sheriff’s Office, Chillicothe detectives executed two search warrants at residences in Pike County that resulted in charges including possession of drugs, trafficking, receiving stolen property, obstructing justice, and having weapons while under disability.

Officers also investigated a hit-skip crash outside the Kroger on Western Avenue around 9:52 p.m. and a runaway juvenile report on Burbridge Street just after 11 p.m.

The final call of the day came at 11:55 p.m., when police responded to Cedarwood Drive for a suspicious person report that resulted in another drug possession arrest and a warrant service.
