
CHILLICOTHE, OH — The Chillicothe Police Department responded to 20 incidents on Thursday, October 16, 2025, according to the department’s daily media report.
The day began at 3:25 a.m. when officers were dispatched to Scioto Avenue for a report of a runaway juvenile. Later that morning, police responded to East Main Street for a hit-skip accident and conducted a welfare check at Sherman Park.
Around 11 a.m., officers were called to South Walnut Street for a disturbance that resulted in a criminal trespass report, followed by two speed-related traffic stops along North Bridge Street.
Shortly after noon, police handled another trespassing complaint at Central Center, where a disorderly subject was reported.
In the afternoon, officers investigated cases of identity fraud and theft reported at the Law Enforcement Center (LEC), as well as another theft without consent at Consumer Center Drive.
While on patrol, officers stopped a silver Chevy Silverado on Adams Avenue and discovered the driver, identified as Max Gilliam, was operating without a valid license and using expired registration from another vehicle. Later, another stop on North Sugar Street led to the discovery that the driver, Mackinzie Hufferd, had a suspended license and an active warrant. A state trooper responded to assist in that case.
During the evening, police handled a variety of calls, including a found property report on North Paint Street, a vandalism complaint on Vine Street, and a traffic crash near Orange Street and Piatt Avenue.
Two separate traffic stops for driving under OVI suspension were conducted on Hirn Street and U.S. 35 near North Bridge Street. Officers also responded to another crash on North Bridge Street, which was reported as a failure to maintain assured clear distance.
No major injuries were reported, and several investigations remain ongoing.
