Chillicothe Police Handle 16 Incidents on August 4, Including Missing Persons, Domestic Violence, and License Suspensions

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio (August 5, 2025) — Officers with the Chillicothe Police Department responded to a variety of incidents throughout Sunday night and Monday, August 4, ranging from reckless driving and domestic violence to missing persons and multiple traffic-related violations.

According to the department’s daily media report, a total of 16 cases were documented across the city.

Key incidents from August 4 include:

  • Reckless Driving & Pursuit: Just after 1:20 a.m., an officer on stationary patrol on North Bridge Street attempted to initiate a traffic stop, resulting in a failure to comply report.
  • Runaway Juvenile: At 3:48 a.m., officers were called to 209 Scioto Avenue for a report of a missing juvenile. The case remains under investigation.
  • Criminal Trespassing: Police responded to a trespassing complaint at the Rent to Own Corp on South Douglas Avenue around 9:51 a.m.
  • Criminal Mischief: Officers investigated a complaint at the City of Chillicothe Engineering Building near N. Poplar Street and the floodwall. That case is still ongoing.
  • Distracted Driving: Two separate traffic stops near Bridge Street and 2nd Street and Riverside Street resulted in citations for texting while driving.
  • License Suspensions (DUS):
    • At 4:41 p.m., a red Kia Spectra was stopped after a turn signal violation on Water Street. The driver, Jessica Beeker, was found to be under a license suspension.
    • At 7:37 p.m., another stop on Water Street led to a citation for Lee Sullivan, who was also driving with a suspended license.
    • Just before midnight, a white Dodge Caravan was stopped near Eastern Avenue and Watt Street for no tag light; the driver was cited for driving under suspension.
  • Domestic Violence: At 5:15 p.m., officers responded to a 911 hang-up with screaming in the background at 615 Johnson Road. The case is being investigated as domestic violence involving physical harm.
  • Warrant Arrests:
    • One male suspect was retrieved from the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office and taken to the Ross County Jail.
    • Another warrant-related transport occurred from the Hocking/Ross County line just before midnight.
  • Violation of Protection Order: At 7:37 p.m., a traffic stop on South Bridge Street led to a report of a possible protection order violation, which remains under investigation.
  • Additional Missing Person Case: At 7:55 p.m., officers were dispatched to 210 Walnut Hills Drive for a second missing person report.
  • Non-Criminal Incident: A report was taken on Glencroft Avenue at 8:29 p.m., though no criminal activity was involved.
