Chillicothe Police Blotter: Weekend Marred by Domestic Disputes and Retail Thefts

CHILLICOTHE, OH — The Chillicothe Police Department had a busy Sunday, March 15, processing 22 incidents that ranged from bar fights and retail thefts to a domestic violence arrest.

Bar Fight and Business Disturbances

The early morning hours kept officers moving through the city’s commercial districts:

  • The Wobbly Ghost: Around 2:00 AM, officers were dispatched to the E. Main Street establishment in response to a “fight in progress.” The incident resulted in charges of Criminal Trespass and Disorderly Conduct.
  • Mister Sub: Later Sunday night, police responded to a suspicious person report at the E. Main Street sub shop, resulting in a Criminal Trespass investigation.
  • Gabe’s: A domestic dispute was reported at the North Bridge Street retailer just before 1:00 AM.

Domestic Violence and Disputes

Domestic calls made up a significant portion of Sunday’s activity across several neighborhoods:

  • Arrest Made: Officers responded to East 7th Street at approximately 8:00 PM for a domestic dispute. Authorities confirmed an arrest was made for Domestic Violence involving knowingly causing physical harm.
  • Sherman Park & Vine Street: Multiple “Disorderly Conduct” investigations are ongoing following disputes at Sherman Park and Vine Street.
  • TPO Violation: A protection order violation was reported at Sherman Park midday Sunday.
  • Orange Street: A dispute in the 900 block of Orange Street was resolved on-scene without further police action.

Theft and Retail Crime

North Bridge Street remained a “hot spot” for larceny complaints throughout the day:

  • Walmart: Officers were dispatched twice to the River Trace Lane Walmart for separate theft complaints, once in the afternoon and again around 6:00 PM.
  • Larceny and Obstruction: A theft at 760 North Bridge Street resulted in an investigation involving charges of criminal trespass and obstructing official business.
  • Hit-Skip: A “hit-skip” crash was reported in the parking lot of Raising Cane’s Chicken on North Bridge Street at 2:00 PM.

Notable Safety Calls

  • Burglary and Curfew: Around 1:00 AM, officers responding to a burglary call on South Hickory Street ended up citing minors for curfew violations.
  • Social Media Alert: On Evergreen Lane, officers took a report regarding a male subject interacting with a juvenile over social media.
  • Drugs: A report for Possession of Drugs and Drug Paraphernalia was filed after a subject arrived at the Law Enforcement Complex on East 2nd Street originally intending to report a trespass.
