CHILLICOTHE, OH — A routine traffic stop on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, led to the arrest of 21-year-old Sean Pollock on multiple warrants and drug-related charges, with further charges pending lab results, according to a Chillicothe Police Department report released Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 02:10 AM EDT.
The incident began when Officer Chance Blankenship, stationed near the S Paint Street BP gas station, observed a red Ford Taurus traveling southbound. Recognizing the front-seat passenger as Sean Pollock, whom he knew had active warrants, Blankenship initiated a pursuit and stopped the vehicle near SR 722 and Patton Hill Rd. Approaching the passenger side, he identified the driver as Ashley Ward and the passenger as Pollock, who initially provided a Social Security number (SSN) under the name “Gene,” which dispatch confirmed belonged to a female.
After asking Pollock to exit the vehicle, Blankenship handcuffed him and, upon rechecking the SSN, confirmed two active warrants from the Ross County Sheriff’s Office (for robbery and theft) and one from the Adult Parole Authority. A search incident to arrest revealed a white baggie with a grayish substance and a clear baggie with a white crystalline substance in Pollock’s gym shorts pocket. Based on his training, Blankenship suspected the crystalline substance was methamphetamine and the grayish substance fentanyl. Pollock admitted one baggie contained “meth” and the other was rolled-up “weed” he intended to smoke.
Ward and her daughter were asked to exit the vehicle, which was searched but yielded no additional evidence, allowing them to leave the scene. Pollock was transported to the Ross County Jail, where he was booked on the warrants. Evidence, including the seized substances, was photographed and secured in a CPD evidence locker, with additional charges to follow pending lab analysis.
