Chillicothe Police Address Multiple Incidents in Busy Sunday Shift

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – July 7, 2025

Chillicothe police responded to 15 incidents on Sunday, July 6, 2025, handling a range of offenses from trespassing to assaults, as detailed in the latest CPD Daily Media Report. Investigations are ongoing for several cases, with arrests and reports marking key resolutions.

The day began with a criminal trespass report at 76 E Main St at 12:40 a.m., followed by a warrant arrest of a female on S Renick Ave at 1:15 a.m. A drug paraphernalia and warrant case on N Bridge St near E 2nd St led to an arrest at 2:15 a.m. Later, a trespass and disorderly conduct call at 512 E 2nd St at 2:48 a.m. remains under investigation.

An unruly juvenile complaint at 120 W 5th St at 8:03 a.m. and a domestic dispute at 760 N Bridge St at 12:19 p.m. are still being probed. A crash at the BP Oil Company on N Bridge St at 3:31 p.m. prompted an ongoing investigation. At 6:08 p.m., a traffic stop on N Bridge St resulted in the arrest of Shane Hayes for a probation violation, with him transported to Ross County Jail.

Other notable incidents included a stolen electric bicycle report at 607 Liberty St at 6:08 p.m., a hit-and-skip at Petland of Chillicothe on N Bridge St at 6:14 p.m., and an assault at 390 E 2nd St at 7:53 p.m., where two juveniles face recommended charges. An animal bite report at 371 Plyleys Ln at 8:05 p.m. and additional trespass and disorderly conduct cases on N Bridge St and S Renick Ave later that night are also under review.

The Chillicothe Police Department continues to investigate these incidents to ensure community safety.
