CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — Rōst Coffee, a beloved fixture of Chillicothe’s revitalized downtown, is set to open a new location in Circleville this November. The shop has been renovating a space at Court and Main in the Crist Building, recently acquired by Bialy Corp, in downtown Circleville.

Since opening in Chillicothe in 2016, Rōst has become a key anchor of the city’s downtown resurgence, helping transform the area into a vibrant hub for locals and visitors alike.

“Rōst Coffee established a storefront in Chillicothe’s Historic Downtown District at a time when the district was struggling to attract merchants,” said Tammy Eallonardo, Director of Greater Chillicothe & Ross County Development. “They’ve since helped reshape the area into a thriving hub.”

The move to Circleville comes after Rōst’s latest relocation in Chillicothe this September. The shop, originally opened in 2013 and relocated to Chillicothe in 2016, will now operate across the street from The Fort Collective on East 2nd Street. Owners Trent and Hillary Fannin noted that the relocation was not part of their original plan but became necessary due to unforeseen circumstances.

“None of this would have been possible without our incredible team and the unwavering support of you — our loyal customers,” the Fannins shared in a statement on Facebook.

What to Expect in Circleville

The new Circleville café will mirror the Chillicothe location, offering specialty coffee, a light menu of food items, and a relaxed atmosphere. While Rōst began as a wholesale roasting company in Columbus, Ohio, Trent Fannin decided to open a café in Chillicothe after plans in Columbus fell through, ultimately creating a space wholly under his ownership.

Rōst has introduced Chillicothe residents to specialty coffee for the first time, offering FETCO-brewed drip coffee, Hario V60 pour-overs, hand-blended teas from Dublin’s Tehku Teas, and a rotating menu of signature drinks such as Fannin’s caramel latte made with brown sugar, Kerrigold butter, and seasonal espresso blends.

The café also partners with local bakeries to feature fresh, locally made treats. While offerings for Circleville have not been finalized.

Rōst sources the majority of its coffee through Bodhi Leaf Coffee Traders in Orange County, California, with select beans, like the Kenya Kifahari, imported through Fannin’s Kenyan connections. The coffees are crafted to appeal to both newcomers to specialty coffee and seasoned aficionados.

The Circleville opening marks the next chapter for Rōst as it brings its small-town charm, quality coffee, and community focus to a new audience next month.
