CHILLICOTHE — The Chillicothe and Ross County Public Library (CRCPL) is welcoming fall with a full slate of engaging programs throughout September — from storytimes and crafts to technology workshops and history talks — while also offering a unique leadership opportunity for local students.
The month kicks off with Friends of Dorothy Book Club on Sept. 1, followed by a wide range of weekly offerings such as Tai Chi, book clubs, Digital Navigator drop-in tech help, crafting sessions, children’s activities, and teen programs. Special highlights include:
- South Salem Cemetery Walk – Sept. 3 at 4 p.m.
- Roblox Unplugged Party – Sept. 3 at 4:30 p.m.
- Fall Open House – Sept. 10 at the Northside Branch.
- History of Serpent Mound – Sept. 15 at Paxton Branch.
- Second Breakfast Bash: A Hobbit Day Party – Sept. 22 at the Northside Branch.
- Meet & Greet with Paw Patrol’s Chase and Skye – Sept. 24 at the Main Library.
- What’s It Worth? Antique Appraisals – Sept. 29 at the Main Library.
Programs are available for all ages, from preschool playdates and STEAM storytimes to teen craft nights and adult workshops on food preservation, genealogy, and legal advice. Many events require registration, which can be completed at CRCPL.org/events.
In addition to the packed event calendar, CRCPL is also seeking a student trustee to join its Board of Trustees. The position is open to high school students in 10th grade or higher and provides hands-on experience in leadership, community service, and civic engagement. The application deadline is September 7, 2025, and interested students can apply at CRCPL.org/studenttrustee.
Library leaders say the dual focus — on robust community programming and youth leadership development — reflects CRCPL’s mission to connect people of all ages with resources and opportunities that inspire lifelong learning.
