
CHILLICOTHE, OH (July 13, 2025) — Chillicothe police officers responded to a wide range of calls on Saturday, July 12, with a total of 26 incidents involving everything from warrants and weapon offenses to domestic violence, theft, and disorderly conduct.
The day began shortly after midnight with a traffic stop on East Main Street that led to an arrest on an outstanding warrant. Minutes later, officers responded to an assault at a residence on Clay Street where a suspect was reportedly intoxicated and allegedly used a weapon during an altercation. Charges of aggravated menacing and use of a weapon while intoxicated are under investigation.
Later that night, a vehicle fled from officers after a failed traffic stop on Akron Street. Police say the suspect remains at large. An investigation is underway.
In the early morning hours, police made multiple stops on East Main and South Hickory Streets resulting in warrant-related arrests and additional citations for license and vehicle violations.
Throughout the day, officers were dispatched to several domestic disputes, including incidents on Arch Street, Old Eastern Avenue, Riverside Street, and South Brownell Street. At least one of these calls resulted in an arrest for domestic violence after a suspect was accused of causing the belief of imminent harm.
Vandalism was reported at a local church on West Main Street, while another criminal mischief case was investigated at a residence on Fleet Street. Over on Rose Lane, police were called to investigate a theft complaint involving stolen property.
At Walmart on River Trace Lane, a suspect was arrested following a theft-in-progress. Meanwhile, officers were summoned to Menards on North Bridge Street for another theft complaint. The suspect in that case received a summons for criminal mischief.
One of the more serious calls came from Sherman Park where a male was allegedly attempting to unlawfully enter a residence. Police say that case also involves allegations of attempting to convey contraband into a detention facility.
Later in the day, officers responded to a missing person report in Sherman Park and a suspicious death investigation on Pawnee Road. Additionally, a case of unauthorized vehicle use was reported on East Water Street, with police still working to recover the stolen vehicle.
Disorderly conduct incidents were scattered throughout the city, including on University Drive, South Hickory Street, Vine Street, and Cherry Street. Police also issued citations during wellness checks and responded to reports of individuals behaving erratically or appearing in distress.
Several investigations remain ongoing.
