Bryan Rettkowski, 48, passed away unexpectedly due to natural causes on July 23, 2025. He was born on December 31, 1976, in Clinton, Iowa, to Hank and Teresa Rettkowski. A proud resident of Circleville, Bryan was a loving husband, father, son, and friend who touched the lives of all who knew him.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Kara (Valentine) Rettkowski, with whom he shared 13 beautiful years of marriage, and their beloved daughters, Harper D. and Hayden J. Bryan also leaves behind his loving parents, Hank and Teresa Rettkowski; his sister, Jeana (Eric) Burnside; his mother-in-law, Linda Valentine-Akers; and his sister-in-law, Kasy (Matt) Wetzel, as well as his brother-in-law, Todd (Shelly) Valentine. He was also cherished by his nieces and nephews: Evan Valentine, Brodie Rettkowski, Ty Wetzel, Hanley Routt, Trace Wetzel, Katie Burnside, and Nathan Burnside, as well as his four-legged companion, Jack.
Bryan was a dedicated employee at Cook’s Creek for many years and was well-loved by his coworkers and friends. He had a deep passion for golf, a love he shared with his father Hank, with whom he spent many unforgettable hours on the course. Bryan’s quick wit, humor, and infectious laugh brought joy to everyone around him, whether he was cracking jokes, sharing stories, or simply being himself.
A true enthusiast at heart, Bryan had a passion for Ford Mustangs and skateboarding. He was also a longtime member of American Legion Post #134. His love for the Iowa Hawkeyes was rivaled only by his devotion to his family. He was a caring and supportive husband and father who placed his family at the center of his world.
Bryan’s loss leaves a void that will never be filled, but his spirit and the memories he created with his loved ones will forever live on. The family wishes to extend their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.
Calling hours, where friends may call, will be held on Monday, July 28th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Wellman’s Funeral Home in Circleville, Ohio. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, July 29th at 1:00 p.m., also at Wellman’s. A private burial will be held at Hitler Ludwig Cemetery at a later date.

Bryan will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who have had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace.
