Circleville, Ohio — A SWAT operation unfolded Friday morning around 8 a.m. at 301 Sumpter Avenue, targeting a suspected encampment involving campers, tents, and an abandoned home next door.
Neighbors told Scioto Post they had reported the property multiple times over the past several months due to heavy traffic and criminal activity.
“Drugs in and out, multiple overdoses, stabbings, robberies. One being our home and all of my husband’s tools. Homeless people living in our tree line. The smell, the trash getting worse,” one nearby homeowner said.
During the raid, authorities detained eight people. Two individuals, Misty Lee, 50, of Circleville, and Jeffery Rice, 49, were booked into the Pickaway County Jail on drug trafficking charges.
