
ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — A fatal single-vehicle crash was reported in Ross County around 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, near the intersection of US-50 and Concord Church Road (mile marker 30.5). The highway is currently closed in both directions, and authorities are urging drivers to seek alternate routes.
According to early reports, the vehicle veered off the roadway and crashed into a nearby body of water, where it partially submerged. A 911 caller who witnessed the incident reported that the driver appeared unresponsive. Emergency crews arrived promptly and began extricating the driver, requesting a medical helicopter for assistance. Despite CPR and other life-saving measures attempted by first responders, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after being removed from the vehicle.
According to investigators, a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, driven by Kenneth James, 36, of Londonderry, was traveling eastbound when the vehicle veered off the road, struck a tree line, and came to rest submerged in a creek.

Mr. James was pronounced dead at the scene by Liberty Township EMS.
Emergency crews from Liberty and Scioto Township Fire/EMS, the V.A. Fire Department, and the Ohio Department of Transportation responded to the incident. Authorities worked to secure the scene and recover the vehicle from the water.
The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, and no further details have been released at this time.
