PIKE COUNTY, OH (July 13, 2025) — Authorities in Pike County are actively investigating after a man was found dead inside a vehicle late Sunday afternoon on Progress Drive, just outside the village limits of Waverly.
Deputies from the Pike County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene following reports of a suspicious vehicle in the area. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of an unidentified male inside the car.
The immediate area has been cordoned off as law enforcement processes the scene and works to determine the circumstances surrounding the man’s death. Detectives and crime scene units remain on-site, and an official cause of death has not yet been released.
Residents are being urged to avoid the area while the investigation continues. More details will be provided as they become available.
