CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — OhioHealth Berger Hospital is pleased to announce that Melissa Fausnaugh, MSN, RN, has been named Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), effective December 7. Fausnaugh has served as Director of Operations at Berger since May 2024 and brings nearly two decades of nursing experience, leadership, and commitment to advancing patient care.
During her tenure at Berger, Fausnaugh has played an essential role in leading nursing services throughout the hospital’s integration with the OhioHealth system. She has also been instrumental in strengthening Berger’s surgical operations. Her leadership has also helped eliminate the need for travel nurses at Berger by building successful recruitment pipelines with local colleges and career centers.
“I am honored to step into the role of Chief Nursing Officer at Berger Hospital,” said Melissa Fausnaugh, MSN, RN. “Nursing is my passion, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to support our teams at the bedside every day while also helping to shape Berger’s long-term direction. This community means a great deal to me, and I’m committed to ensuring our patients receive the exceptional care they deserve.”
Outside of work, Fausnaugh is engaged in the Pickaway County community, serving on both the Pickaway County Special Olympics Board and the Pickaway County Leadership for Tomorrow Board.
Casey Liddy, president of OhioHealth Berger Hospital, said Fausnaugh’s leadership has already made a significant impact.
“Melissa is a trusted, respected leader who consistently puts patients, associates, and this community first,” Liddy said. “Her vision, experience and collaborative leadership style make her the ideal person to guide our teams into the future. We are thrilled to have her step into this role.”
Fausnaugh succeeds Gretchen Roberts, who transitioned in late November to her new position as Chief Nursing Officer and Vice President of Patient Care Services at OhioHealth Doctors Hospital.
