Jason Miller, Republican candidate for Chillicothe Municipal Court judge

Ross County — A prosecuting attorney and assistant Chillicothe law director is running for one of the two judgeships in Chillicothe Municipal Court. Local trial attorney Jason Miller wants to fill the seat in Courtroom Number Two being vacated by retiring Judge John Street.

His Democratic opponent is Chillicothe Mayor Luke Feeney, though the candidates’ party affiliation is not identified on the ballot. (A completely separate race for Courtroom Number One is between Independent Judge Keith Washburn and Democratic attorney Angela Hirsch.

Miller says he has been a prosecuting attorney in some court somewhere for the last 23 years. He says he was also appointed by two separate judges to serve as their substitutes starting 11 years ago.

Although it is named the Chillicothe Municipal Court, he points out that all Ross County misdemeanors start and end in it, and some some felonies start there but move on to Ross County Common Pleas.

Hear Miller in his own words in the below video interview from October 17th, 2025. Read his announcement of his candidacy and resumé from January. He also has a Facebook page for his candidacy.

Miller chats about his experience outside of the municipal courthouse.
