ASHVILLE, OH – The Ashville Police Department has announced an arrest in connection with the September 10 death of Stacey Garman on Long Street in the village.
With assistance from the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office and guidance from the Pickaway County Prosecutor’s Office, officers executed an arrest warrant for James Tackett, who is now being held in the Pickaway County Jail on a charge of voluntary manslaughter.
Police emphasized that throughout the investigation, they did not believe residents of the village were in any danger from Tackett. The department said it was important to complete a thorough investigation before releasing too many details publicly.
“We would like to thank the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office and the Pickaway County Prosecutor’s Office for all their help with this case. Both agencies have gone above and beyond to assist us so there wouldn’t be any questions about how the investigation was handled,” Ashville Police said in a statement.
The department also expressed gratitude to the community for its patience and support during the investigation, noting the strong show of encouragement from village residents.
The case remains under investigation.
