CIRCLEVILLE, OH — ArtsaRound, a Pickaway County non-profit dedicated to supporting the arts, has named Aubree Walker, a recent Logan Elm High School graduate, as the recipient of its 2025 Collegiate Art Scholarship, announced on Friday, May 30, 2025, at 8:30 AM EDT. The scholarship, in its first year, supports local students pursuing post-secondary art education and drew competitive submissions from four county high schools.

Aubree, nominated by her teacher Heath Bennett, impressed the selection committee with her portfolio and artist statement, which detailed her vision to blend science and art in her future career. She plans to study geology with a minor in art at The Ohio State University, aiming to “merge science and art… spreading creativity and inspiring others through education and innovation.” She expressed gratitude, stating, “I am more than honored to receive the first ArtsaRound scholarship prize… I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity it provides.”

ArtsaRound President Dale Herron praised the talent pool, noting, “We continue to be impressed by the artistic talent in Pickaway County. Our applicants this year included vocalists as well as visual artists, and we hope to continue to expand this scholarship in the future.” The scholarship was open to students nominated by arts-related teachers, encompassing fields like band, chorus, and visual arts, requiring a portfolio and a statement on their artistic goals and community involvement.

Founded in 2001, ArtsaRound operates the ArtsaRound Gallery On The Original Circle at 135 W. Main Street, Circleville, open on weekends. For more information, contact [email protected] or visit artsaround.org.
