CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — One of Chillicothe’s most popular fall traditions is set to return as the annual Ghost Walk fundraiser takes over downtown on Saturday, September 20, 2025.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and offers history lovers, paranormal enthusiasts, and curious visitors the chance to explore some of the city’s most historic — and reportedly haunted — locations.

This year’s featured stops include:

  • The Odd Fellows Lodge
  • Ross Chillicothe Chamber of Commerce
  • The Franklin House
  • The Majestic Theatre

The Ghost Walk is self-guided, allowing participants to tour at their own pace and in any order. Volunteer storytellers and guides will be stationed at each site, sharing a mix of historical facts and eerie tales tied to the buildings. Guests are encouraged to arrive before 1 p.m. to ensure they have enough time to complete the tour, with the last groups beginning no later than 5 p.m.

Now in its 15th year, the Ghost Walk has long served as both a community fundraiser and a celebration of local history. Proceeds once benefited the League of Women Voters, and since 2017, have gone directly to support the Chillicothe Halloween Festival, scheduled this year for October 10–12 in Yoctangee Park.

Tickets are $10 per person, with free admission for children 8 and under. They can be purchased online at ChillicotheHalloweenFestival.com/ghost-walk or in person at the Ross-Chillicothe Convention & Visitors Bureau, 230 North Plaza Blvd, beginning August 20.

Organizers say the Ghost Walk not only raises vital funds but also highlights Chillicothe’s architecture, culture, and long-standing love of ghost stories.
