AMANDA, OH — The Amanda-Clearcreek School District dismissed students early on Tuesday, October 29, 2025, after a written threat was discovered inside one of the school buildings, prompting an immediate safety response.
According to district officials, the threatening message was reported to administrators earlier in the morning, who then activated established safety protocols and placed the 3–12 building on “Hold” status while the situation was assessed.
At this time, there is no indication the threat is credible, but school officials said they are acting with an abundance of caution to ensure the safety of all students and staff.
“Student and staff safety remain our absolute highest priority,” the district said in a statement to parents and guardians. “We have determined that more time is needed to thoroughly investigate the written threat in cooperation with the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office.”

The district acknowledged the early dismissal may have caused disruption for families, thanking parents for their understanding and immediate cooperation during the process. Officials also urged the community to avoid spreading unverified information while the investigation continues.
Additional updates will be shared with families as soon as more information becomes available, the district said.
