
AMANDA, OH – The Amanda-Clearcreek Board of Education has officially named Tony Williams as the new Athletic Director for Amanda-Clearcreek Local Schools, with the announcement made at 8:45 AM EDT on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. Williams, marking his 20th year in education, brings a wealth of experience in athletic administration and coaching to the role.
“We are excited to welcome Tony Williams to our district as our new athletic director,” said Dr. Timothy Edwards, Superintendent of Amanda-Clearcreek Local Schools. “Tony’s extensive athletic administration and coaching background, combined with two decades of teaching, will be a tremendous asset to our students, families, and district. We anticipate a positive impact on our athletic programs under his leadership.”
Williams has held prominent leadership positions, including serving as an executive board member of the Ohio Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (OIAAA) and president of the Southeast Ohio Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (SEOIAAA) from 2018 to 2023. He currently sits on the OHSAA Southeast District Athletic Board (SEDAB) and acts as the athletic conference assistant administrator for the Southern Hills Athletic Conference. His career is marked by accolades such as the 2022 SEOIAAA Sportsmanship and Integrity Award, 2018 SEOIAAA Meritorious Award, 2017 OIAAA Southeast District Athletic Director of the Year, 2015 SEOIAAA Citation Award, and the 2013 SEOIAAA Horizon Award.
With 18 years teaching math and one year of social studies for grades 5-9, Williams also boasts 10 years as an athletic director, including stints at North Adams High School (2012-2018) and Fairfield Local (2019-2022). He coached girls’ basketball for 11 years at middle and high school levels. A 2002 graduate of Wheelersburg High School and a 2006 graduate of Shawnee State University, Williams is married to Angy, and they have two children, Ginny and Jimmy.
“I am eager to begin this role at Amanda-Clearcreek and hope to bring my passion for athletics and education together to serve the A-C district,” said Williams. “I look forward to working with teams, coaches, families, and staff to provide our students with a great athletic experience.”
