Chillicothe, OH — August 8, 2025 — Law enforcement responded to multiple alcohol-related incidents at the Ross County Fairgrounds early Thursday morning, continuing a pattern of concerns during this year’s fair.

According to reports from the Ross County Sheriff’s Office, the first incident occurred shortly after 12:40 a.m. on August 7. Deputy Morgan was called to the fairgrounds on a juvenile-related complaint and located four individuals who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. A 19-year-old male was arrested at the scene for disorderly intoxication. An 18-year-old male was cited for underage alcohol possession. Two juveniles involved were released into the custody of their parents or guardians.

Just a few hours later, at approximately 3:53 a.m., Lt. McGoye observed a golf cart being driven recklessly along Liberty Street within the fairgrounds. When the cart came to a stop, one of the three male occupants fled on foot. The remaining two individuals were found to be in possession of open containers of alcohol. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Just two days ago an incident involving underage drinking and five teens and young adults occured in a earlier report we released yesterday.

The Ross County Sheriff’s Office has not released the names of those involved, and it remains unclear whether additional charges will be filed.

These incidents add to a growing list of disturbances reported at the fair this week, raising concerns about underage drinking and alcohol misuse during the event.
