RICHLAND TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A 20-year-old Fairfield County man lost his life Saturday afternoon following a single-vehicle rollover crash in rural Vinton County.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol identified the victim as Elijah Brandenburger, 20, of Lancaster.
According to state troopers, the crash occurred around 3:30 p.m. along Kelly Road, near the intersection of Murphy Remy Road in Richland Township. Brandenburger was driving a 1998 Toyota Camry northeast on Kelly Road when the vehicle veered off the right side of the roadway.
The car struck an embankment and a tree before overturning.
Brandenburger sustained fatal injuries in the collision and was pronounced dead.
The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
