Resident Flown to Hospital After Being Rescued From Early Morning Fairfield County House Fire

BERNE TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A resident was rescued from a burning home early Saturday morning following a swift emergency response by local firefighters and medics.

The Berne Township Fire Department was dispatched at approximately 1:00 a.m. to reports of a residential structure fire. Upon arrival, engine and tanker crews investigated the scene, located the blaze inside the home, and deployed an attack line to begin extinguishment operations.

During the search-and-rescue phase of the operation, firefighters discovered a conscious resident inside the structure and successfully pulled them to safety.

Medics from the Lancaster Fire Department assisted on-scene with immediate patient care before transferring the resident to an air ambulance crew. The victim was flown to a regional medical facility for further treatment. Details on their identity and current condition have not yet been released.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

In a statement following the rescue, the Berne Township Fire Department expressed gratitude to the dispatchers, supporting agencies, and mutual aid departments that assisted at the scene.
