CHILLICOTHE, OH – The Chillicothe Police Department kept busy on Monday, July 6, 2026, responding to 15 incidents ranging from theft waves and traffic crashes to domestic disputes and mental health crises, according to the latest daily media report.

Theft Reports Spike Across the City

Officers responded to five separate theft complaints throughout the day, most of which remain under investigation:

  • 3:05 AM: Officers were called to a theft at 1049 Columbus St.
  • 3:21 AM: A theft was reported at 475 N. High St.
  • 11:40 AM: Police took a theft complaint at 155 W. Water St.
  • 1:56 PM: An officer responded to the 600 block of Vine St. for another theft report.
  • 3:28 PM: A theft was reported at 18 Club Dr.

Traffic Violations and Crashes

The day saw several traffic disruptions, including two collisions:

  • 2:42 AM: Police initiated a traffic stop on E. Main St. near Cutright Dr. for an improper turn and failure to signal. The driver received a citation.
  • 9:37 AM: Officers conducted a crash investigation involving an Assured Clear Distance Ahead (ACDA) violation on W. Water St.
  • 3:47 PM: Police responded to a non-injury crash at the Majestic Theater on E. 2nd St. A driver was cited for failure to control and weaving.

Domestic Disputes and Protection Order Violations
