CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Chillicothe Police Department kept a rapid pace at the start of the month, responding to 19 total incidents on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. The daily media report highlights an active shift filled with burglary investigations, a missing child report, domestic disputes, and several traffic accidents across the city.

Burglaries and Criminal Trespass

  • East 4th Street Burglary: At 5:51 p.m., officers were dispatched to 146 E. 4th Street regarding a burglary involving a trespass in an occupied, separately secured structure. The incident remains under active investigation.
  • South Mulberry Threat Call: Earlier in the evening, at 5:26 p.m., police responded to a burglary and threats complaint at 78 S. Mulberry Street, Apt. A.
  • Public Library Trespassing: Officers responded to the Chillicothe Public Library on S. Paint Street at 6:27 p.m. following a complaint regarding a criminal trespasser. A formal report was taken.

Missing Juvenile and Theft Reports

  • Missing Person Logged: At 12:16 p.m., police were dispatched to the 700 block of Orange Street to take a report regarding a missing juvenile.
  • Park Street Theft: Officers responded to a theft from a building on Park Street at 1:08 p.m.
  • Gas Station Theft: A delayed theft report was filed at 7:10 a.m. from N. Rose Street. The caller reported a theft that had occurred two days prior, on June 29, at the Pilot gas station on E. Main Street.
  • West 7th Street Theft: Late Wednesday night, at 11:33 p.m., a theft without consent complaint drew officers to 803 Lincoln Park.

Accidents and Traffic Citations

  • Bridge Street Shopping District Collision: At 7:03 p.m., police investigated a two-vehicle crash at 1180 N. Bridge Street. A vehicle driven by Rebekah Current was turning left out of Zane Plaza while a vehicle driven by Michael Martin was turning right after exiting the Chillicothe Mall near McDonald’s. Both drivers claimed they stayed in the innermost lane and that the other driver crossed over the line. Because there were no independent witnesses or surveillance video, the officer noted the impact points and completed the report.
  • North High Street Crash: Just before midnight, at 11:24 p.m., officers responded to a motor vehicle accident near the intersection of N. High and Arch streets. A citation was issued for failure to control and weaving.
  • Additional Crashes: Police responded to earlier accidents on North Bridge Street near the Mall McDonald’s lot at 12:15 p.m., a right-of-way turning crash at 2:56 p.m., a marked-lanes violation accident on Delano Avenue at 3:48 p.m., and a non-injury crash on N. Bridge Street at 6:03 p.m. where a citation was issued.

Domestic Disputes and Disorderly Conduct

  • Washington Avenue Arrest: Early Wednesday morning at 4:45 a.m., officers responded to a disorderly conduct call at 883 Washington Avenue. The response resulted in charges of Resisting Arrest and Failure to Disclose Personal Information.
  • Domestic Disputes: Officers were called to handle domestic arguments and disorderly conduct at 42 S. Sugar Street (12:42 a.m.), Katz Tires at 460 Western Avenue (3:56 p.m.), and 60 Cheyenne Drive (3:57 p.m.). All remain under investigation.
