CIRCLEVILLE, OH — A violent two-vehicle collision disrupted Sunday afternoon traffic and triggered a massive emergency response near a busy Circleville intersection.

At approximately 2:17 PM on May 3, 2026, first responders were dispatched to the area near Taco Bell on US-23 and Connector road following reports of an injury crash. Upon arrival, crews discovered a chaotic scene where one of the vehicles had rolled over, coming to rest on its roof with two occupants trapped inside.

Life-Flight and Emergency Transport

The severity of the wreckage prompted incident command to initially request two medical helicopters. Following a successful extrication of the trapped victims, the request was scaled back to one aircraft.

The victim’s transport status is as follows:

  • Air Evac: One person was airlifted by medical helicopter to a Columbus-area hospital in critical condition.
  • Ground Transport (Trauma): A second victim was transported by ground ambulance to Grant Medical Center in Columbus.
  • Local Transport: Four additional individuals involved in the crash were taken to OhioHealth Berger Hospital for treatment of various injuries.

Investigation and Traffic Delays

The intersection was partially closed for nearly two hours as investigators worked to determine the cause of the rollover.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible, as secondary delays are expected while the scene is fully cleared.

The names and current conditions of those involved have not yet been released. The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Department is leading the investigation into the cause of the crash.
