
CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Chillicothe Police Department responded to a variety of incidents on April 26, 2026, including a domestic violence investigation, a reported burglary, theft complaints, and a missing juvenile case.
According to the department’s daily media report, officers handled 19 calls for service throughout the day across Chillicothe.
🚨 Major Incidents
Among the more serious calls:
- Domestic Violence Investigation:
Officers responded to the 100 block of Steele Street, where an investigation found evidence of an assault between a husband and wife. Police identified the wife as the primary aggressor. The investigation remains ongoing. - Burglary Reported:
Police were dispatched to a residence on Washington Avenue in reference to a burglary. The case is still under investigation. - Missing Juvenile:
Officers responded to a report of a missing juvenile connected to the Brownell Street area. The investigation is ongoing. - Non-Suspicious Death:
Police were called to East Main Street for a possible deceased individual. The death is not considered suspicious at this time.

🚔 Theft and Trespassing Cases
Several theft-related incidents were also reported:
- A theft complaint on North High Street
- A shoplifting incident at the Walmart on River Trace Lane, involving trespassing and theft allegations
- Multiple criminal trespass complaints, including incidents on Church Street and South Brownell Street

- Well-being checks, including one involving a man reportedly yelling inside a vehicle
- A late-night 911 hang-up call on University Drive
