WALNUT TOWNSHIP, OH – A serious two-vehicle collision on Wednesday afternoon sent two people to area hospitals and shut down a local intersection for several hours.

The crash occurred at approximately 5:09 PM on April 22, 2026, at the intersection of Walnut Creek Pike and State Route 752.

The Collision

According to the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office report, Ionnah T. Hensler, 21, of Columbus, was driving a tan 2006 Toyota Sienna southbound on Walnut Creek Pike. Investigators state that Hensler came to a stop at the intersection but then proceeded into the path of a westbound vehicle that had the right-of-way.

The second vehicle, a white 2024 Chevrolet 3500 pickup truck driven by Austin P. Stiles, 32, of South Bloomfield, struck the passenger van in an angle-style collision.

Injuries and Emergency Response

The impact resulted in significant damage to both vehicles and required a major emergency response:

  • Ionnah Hensler (Unit 1 Driver): Hensler suffered suspected serious injuries. She was extricated from the vehicle by mechanical means and transported by EMS to Grant Medical Center in Columbus.
  • Austin Stiles (Unit 2 Driver): Stiles suffered suspected minor injuries and was transported to OhioHealth Berger Hospital in Circleville.
  • Passengers: Three passengers in Hensler’s vehicle—identified as Rahkel Ferrell (20), Rhylee Fisher (21), and Brooklyn Ray (20), all of Columbus—reported no apparent injuries at the scene.

Charges and Investigation

The reporting officer, Zachary Irwin, cited Hensler for Failure to Yield the Right-of-Way at a Through Highway (ORC 4511.43).

The intersection was closed for approximately two hours while crews cleared the wreckage and investigated the scene. Both vehicles were towed from the site due to disabling damage.

Safety Note: Pickaway County officials remind motorists to double-check for oncoming traffic at through-way intersections, even after coming to a complete stop.
