CHILLICOTHE, OH — The Chillicothe Police Department handled a wide array of calls on Sunday, April 12, ranging from criminal trespassing and vehicle vandalism to reports of unconscious individuals and juvenile arrests.

Early Morning Disturbances

The day began with officers responding to a suspicious person report on Columbus Street just after 2:00 AM, resulting in a criminal trespass investigation. Shortly after, at 3:19 AM, units were called to North Sugar Street for a domestic dispute. Authorities noted that disorderly conduct involving an intoxicated individual created a risk of harm during the encounter.

Later that morning, police were called to the YMCA shelter house on Mill Street to break up a disorderly conduct incident. While both parties were separated upon arrival, the investigation remains active.

Community Safety and Welfare Checks

Around 4:15 PM, emergency responders were dispatched to the Crystal Clean Car Wash on North Bridge Street following reports of an unconscious male. Details on his condition have not been released as the investigation continues.

In a separate welfare call, officers arrived at East 7th Street late Sunday afternoon to assist a male who was reportedly threatening self-harm.

Assault and Juvenile Incidents

The local library became the scene of a police investigation at 6:31 PM. Officers responded to the Chillicothe Ross Public Library on South Paint Street regarding a juvenile complaint that has since been classified as an assault.

The evening saw further juvenile-related calls:

  • W.M. Trotter Drive: Officers responded to a report of an unruly juvenile. The situation escalated, resulting in a juvenile arrest for domestic violence and resisting arrest.
  • Plyleys Lane: Just before 10:00 PM, police were called regarding a 15-year-old male who was refusing to enter a residence.

Property Crimes and Warrant Services

A resident on East Main Street reported vandalism to their vehicle Sunday afternoon, prompting a criminal mischief investigation.

Additionally, police carried out administrative duties at the Ross County Jail (RCJ). Officers served Larry Bostwick with an outstanding warrant for a probation violation.

Non-Criminal Resolutions

Not every call resulted in charges. A domestic dispute reported on South Rose Street at 1:03 PM was resolved without further action after officers determined no crime had been committed.
