CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Officers with the Chillicothe Police Department responded to a range of incidents throughout the city on Sunday, March 29, including domestic disputes, crashes, a reported theft, and a vehicle striking a home.
Police were first called to East 5th Street shortly after 1 a.m. for a reported domestic dispute. That investigation remains ongoing. Later in the morning, officers responded to another complaint on Brennan Road around 9:30 a.m., followed by a separate domestic-related call on East Water Street just after 10 a.m. Authorities classified the latter as a non-criminal matter, though the investigation is continuing.
Around 11:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to East Main Street in response to a reported theft. Details about what was taken have not yet been released.
Several traffic-related incidents occurred throughout the afternoon. At approximately 3 p.m., police responded to a crash on Western Avenue near the Cozy Inn. Another crash was reported minutes later on North Bridge Street. A third accident on West 6th Street involved improper starting or backing; a report was taken and no further action was required.
In the early evening, officers were called to Logan Street after a child was reportedly struck by a vehicle. The extent of injuries has not been disclosed, and the incident remains under investigation.
Police also assisted with a warrant pickup around 6:30 p.m. on state Route 104, coordinating with another agency.
Later that night, authorities responded to a serious crash on Old Eastern Avenue, where a vehicle reportedly drove into a house. The circumstances surrounding the incident are still being investigated.
Just before 11 p.m., officers were dispatched to Eastern Avenue following a reported dog bite. That case also remains under investigation.
In total, police handled 11 incidents throughout the day, with several cases still active as investigations continue.
