Thefts, Warrants and Harassment Cases Highlight Busy Day for Chillicothe Police

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Officers with the Chillicothe Police Department handled a variety of incidents on March 24, 2026, including multiple theft reports, warrant arrests, and a forgery investigation.

🚔 Overnight Activity

Police activity began shortly after midnight with a traffic stop on East Main Street that led to a warrant-related case.

Just before 1:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to East Main Street for a report of an intoxicated individual lying on a sidewalk. The incident was classified as disorderly conduct.

Later in the early morning hours, officers made another warrant arrest on North Paint Street.

🕵️ Theft and Fraud Investigations

Several theft-related incidents were reported throughout the day:

  • A theft complaint was reported at a business on East Main Street, with the investigation ongoing
  • A theft from a motor vehicle was reported at Sherman Park
  • A second theft report at Sherman Park was taken later that evening

In addition, detectives opened an investigation into a forged check reported on South Paint Street, as well as a separate identity theft case on Mohican Court.

📞 Harassment and Welfare Concerns

Police also responded to a telecommunications harassment complaint reported at the Law Enforcement Complex. The case remains under investigation.

Officers were dispatched to East 7th Street for a report involving suicidal threats, which remains an active and ongoing investigation.

🚗 Traffic and Other Incidents

A traffic stop was conducted on Yoctangee Parkway for a restricted U-turn violation, and officers also responded to a crash report on Western Avenue.

Another warrant arrest was made later in the day on North Paint Street.
