COLUMBUS, Ohio — Families looking to trade kitchen time for quality time this Easter can head outdoors, as the Ohio Department of Natural Resources invites visitors to enjoy holiday meals at scenic state park lodges across Ohio.

With Easter falling on April 5, officials say the annual dining events offer a stress-free way to celebrate, combining festive meals with the natural beauty of Ohio’s parks. Guests can enjoy buffets and brunch options before heading out for spring hikes, lake views, and family-friendly activities.

Two standout destinations in central and southern Ohio include Deer Creek Lodge & Conference Center and Hocking Hills Lodge & Conference Center.

At Deer Creek Lodge, located near Circleville, guests can enjoy an Easter buffet from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., offering a convenient option for families looking to celebrate close to home while taking in views of Deer Creek State Park.

Meanwhile, Hocking Hills Lodge will host an Easter brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., giving visitors the chance to pair their meal with one of Ohio’s most popular outdoor destinations, known for its scenic cliffs, waterfalls, and hiking trails.

Across the state, additional lodges—including locations at Burr Oak, Salt Fork, Shawnee, and Maumee Bay—will also offer Easter meals ranging from brunch to dinner buffets. Some locations are even hosting special events like bunny breakfasts and egg hunts during the holiday weekend.

Officials say the goal is to provide families with a relaxing alternative to traditional holiday preparations.

“Instead of spending hours cooking, guests can focus on making memories, enjoying great food, and exploring Ohio’s beautiful parks,” ODNR said in a statement.

Reservations are required for most locations, and spots are expected to fill quickly as families plan their Easter celebrations.

The Easter dining events are part of a broader lineup of spring activities planned across Ohio’s 76 state parks, as the state park system continues to draw visitors for both recreation and seasonal events.
